How to choose your LED bulb?
With the ban on incandescent bulbs, LED bulbs are more and
more popular. The range of LED lamps, however, are very large and it is
difficult to navigate! We will give you in this article our advice to choose
your LED!
What nerve?
If you have a screw base, you have the choice between the
base E14 (diameter 14mm) or E27 (diameter 27mm). These lamps are powered by
230V, that is to say, they are installed directly on the sector.
If you have a base with 2 pins, choose the GU10 in 230V
power supply, or the GU5.3 or G4 in very low voltage (12V). If you have a
bayonet lamp, choose the B22.
What power?
The power of the indicated LEDs is expressed in the number
of watts consumed, followed by the halogen equivalence, so that the luminous
rendering can be compared. For example, an LED of 7-35W means that it will
consume 7W but will replace a halogen of 35W for the same quality of lighting.
The electricity consumption is divided by 5 for the same light output.
What color temperature?
Unlike halogen lamps, LED bulbs offer wider choices oflighting design thanks to their different colors. For example, you can choose:
At home, it will be more pleasant to have 2700K lamps to
create a warm atmosphere in the living rooms or bedrooms. In the bathrooms, a
whiter light will be appreciated in 3000K. 4000K lamps are not recommended. For
businesses, it all depends on your type of business and the products you want
to showcase. As an indication, most halogen lamps have a color temperature
between 2700K and 3000K.
